Woman killed in gas station shooting near downtown identified by medical examiner

SAN ANTONIO – Update (5:30 p.m., Sunday):

A woman who died from her injuries after a shooting at a downtown-area gas station has been identified by the Bexar County Medical Examiner.

Deanna Mason, 34, died from her injuries on Sunday after being shot in the head and chest a day earlier, the ME said.

At last check, no suspect is in custody in connection with the shooting.

A woman has died from her injuries after she was shot multiple times at a gas station near downtown, according to officials.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner confirmed the woman’s death on Sunday. Her identity has not yet been released.

The shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. Saturday at a Valero gas station in the 900 block of W Hildebrand Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found the woman shot in the head and chest.

After further investigation, police said the woman and the suspect arrived at the gas station in the same vehicle before the shooting happened.

The woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police said the suspect left the scene before officers arrived and is still on the run.
